Situated at an altitude of 3048 meters above sea level, Gangotri is very near the Indo-Tibetan border. The main attraction here is a 20-feet high structure made of white granite. Jalamagna Shivling, a natural rock Shivling, here is also a must visit. It is believed that it was here where Shiva gave way to Ganga through his locks. Yamunotri is the next destination of the Chardham Yatra located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttaranchal. The Yamunotri Temple here is dedicated to the river Yamuna.
